Imbricaria conularis

Imbricaria conularis, common name the cone mitre, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Mitridae, the miters or miter snails.

The species was first described by the French naturalist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck in 1811, under the original name of Mitra conularis (published in the Annales du Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle). It was later placed in the genus Imbricaria (and is now classified in the subfamily Imbricariinae and the family Mitridae).
