White-kneed Mosquito
Aedes alboannulatus
Aedes alboannulatus is a mosquito species of the genus Aedes. Native to Australia, it is found across all states and is known to breed in bushland ground pools and creekline rockpools. While it can be a nuisance due to its biting behavior in bushland areas, it is not considered a significant vector for diseases such as the Murray Valley encephalitis virus, distinguishing it from other notable Aedes species like Aedes aegypti.
